Automatic Prediction of Conductive Hearing Loss Using Video Pneumatic Otoscopy and Deep Learning Algorithm

In this preliminary study, a deep learning algorithm created to analyze Video Pneumatic Otoscopy images successfully detected the presence of conductive hearing losses caused by middle ear effusion, ossicular fixation, otosclerosis, and adhesive otitis media.

Marmoset monkeys capable of taking hearing tests on a touchscreen

Researchers have developed an automated auditory training program that marmoset monkeys can perform in their familiar environment on a voluntary basis. The team has accomplished getting non-human primates to complete a series of tests in which they hear different sounds and then match them to the appropriate, previously learned visual stimuli by clicking on a touchscreen.
