A friend sent me this video about the rise and fall of the DTC venture capital boom. I personally see many parallels with the DTC hearing aid industry ... especially the high cost of acquiring customers through digital advertising and the lack of profitability. After writing off the "antiquated" brick and mortar retail channel completely, Casper's most successful sales channel recently has been (wait for it) physical mattress stores. Will we see a repeat of this boom and bust DTC cycle in the hearing aid world with the launch of OTC? - Abram

Whisper V1.5, the fifth major update to the Whisper Hearing System, reduces feedback with a new feedback cancellation system and (as a result) allows more users to be fit with Whisper ("up to 90 dB of hearing loss"). A new Android app allows users to control the hearing aid from their phones.
