Earasers Expert Review by Steve Taddei: Hear For Yourself

Earasers are high-fidelity hearing protection devices designed for musicians and concertgoers. They claim to offer “the world’s first flat frequency response” in a nearly invisible non-occluding earplug. This video features Dr. Steve Taddei's overall impressions after putting Earasers to the test, and you'll be able to hear recordings of their actual performance in the lab.

Deconvolution of Ears' Activity (DEA): A New Experimental Paradigm to Investigate Central Auditory Processing (APD)

Fabrice Bardy (who co-founded Tinnibot) presents a novel experimental paradigm, “deconvolution of ears' activity” (DEA), that disentangles overlapping neural activity from both auditory cortices when two auditory stimuli are presented closely together in time in each ear. Results from three normal-hearing adults showed good test-retest reliability, and suggest DEA could be a potential tool for generating an objective “auditory profile” for assessing APD.

Automatic analysis of cochlear response using electrocochleography signals during cochlear implant surgery

An algorithm for automating the analysis of cochlear responses and detecting trauma with interoperative electrocochleography (ECochG) monitoring is described for the preservation of natural hearing during CI surgery. The researchers show the proposed method is highly accurate when compared to monitoring by a human expert.
