Using Eye Movements to Improve Directionality in Hearing Aids and Cochlear Implants
In the future, will hearing aids and cochlear implants use eye movement to direct beamforming microphones? This article looks at the work of Boston University's Gerald Kidd and colleagues who are working on the concept of a visually guided hearing aid (VGHA).

UK Biobank Study: Dual sensory impairment (hearing + vision impairment) increases risk of mortality by 44%
In a UK Biobank study of people over 40 years old, individuals with both hearing impairment (HI) and vision impairment (VI) were found to have a 44% independently higher hazard of mortality than those with neither sensory impairment. Participants with single VI and single HI had 1.3- and 1.2-fold increased risk of mortality, respectively.
