Using sound to model the world

MIT researchers developed a machine-learning technique that can capture how any sound in a room propagates through the space, and then simulates what a listener would hear at different locations. The system can also use the acoustic data to build accurate visual renderings of a room.

Envoy Medical Early Feasibility Study of Breakthrough Fully Implanted Cochlear Implant Now Underway

Envoy Medical announced the first patient has been enrolled and implanted in the Acclaim Cochlear Implant early feasibility study at Mayo Clinic. If approved by the FDA, the Acclaim would be the first-of-its-kind cochlear implant designed to be fully implanted and use the ear, rather than a microphone, to pick up sound.
