Association of Hearing Aids and Cochlear Implants With Cognitive Decline and Dementia

The use of hearing aids and cochlear implants is associated with a 19% decrease in hazards of long-term cognitive decline, according to this systematic review and meta-analysis published yesterday in 'JAMA Neurology'. Furthermore, usage of HAs and CIs is significantly associated with a 3% improvement in cognitive test scores that assess general cognition in the short term.
