ATIS Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) Task Force Recommends a Path to 100% Compatibility for Wireless Handsets

The Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) Task Force in the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) has delivered its final report, recommending to the FCC a path for achieving 100% hearing aid compatibility for wireless handsets that includes consumer adoption of Bluetooth connectivity, the addition of a “volume control” requirement to the HAC rules, and transition to a new ANSI testing standard for both hearing devices and wireless handsets.
