With 1 billion young people at risk for hearing loss, the World Health Organization (WHO) is targeting e-gamers, encouraging them to keep the volume below 60% of the maximum, take regular breaks, and check their hearing regularly. Johns Hopkins Study Links Hearing Loss with Dementia in Older Adults, and Shows Treating Hearing Loss May Reduce Risk

The findings, from a nationally representative sample of more than 2,400 older adults, are consistent with prior studies showing that hearing loss might be a contributing factor to dementia risk over time, and that treating hearing loss may lower dementia risk.
