A large-scale survey of people in Europe looked at self-reported dual sensory impairment (DSI)—people reporting both hearing and vision impairment. Among individuals aged 60 or more, 9.2% of men and 10.9% of women reported having DSI, with Eastern and southern countries having a higher prevalence. The data also revealed social isolation and poor self-rated health status were associated with DSI.
