A survey using the HearingTracker and OTC Lexie hearing aid databases yielded responses to the IOI-HA outcome tool from 406 conventional and 250 OTC hearing aid users. No significant difference in overall hearing aid outcomes between HCP and OTC users (including app-based fitting, acclimatization, remote support, behavioral incentivization, and payment options) was evident, although HCP clients reported significantly longer hours of daily use.
