The hair cell analysis toolbox is a precise and fully automated pipeline for whole cochlea hair cell quantification

This study presents the Hair Cell Analysis Toolbox (HCAT) which automates cochlear image analysis tasks such as counting hair cells, classifying them by subtype (i.e., IHC/OHC) and determining their optimal frequency. Using machine learning, HCAT removes a considerable barrier in cochlear image analysis, allowing for faster, unbiased, and more comprehensive data analysis.

The leaky pipeline of hearing care: Primary to secondary care evidence from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA)

This UK study shows 38.1% of older adults with acknowledged hearing loss did not tell a doctor or nurse about their hearing problems, and about 1 in 5 who did tell their provider didn't receive a referral for further hearing assessment. However, almost 4 out of 5 (78.9%) of those who were referred to secondary care were willing to try and use hearing aids.
