Judge orders 3M CEO to attend mediation for earplug lawsuits

In an unusual court order, 3M CEO Mike Roman is required to go to Florida this week to help resolve costly federal litigation concerning the company's allegedly faulty military earplugs. One of the largest-ever U.S. mass torts, the litigation involves over 200,000 cases with potentially billions at stake.

Lithium chloride delivered to the round window found to regenerate cochlear synapses damaged by noise-induced trauma in rats

Researchers from South Korea found that round-window delivery of lithium chloride (with a surfactant/poloxamer) reduced cochlear synaptic loss after acoustic overexposure in a rat model, even when administered 24 hours post-exposure of noise.
