A Large-Scale Study of the Relationship Between Degree and Type of Hearing Loss and Recognition of Speech in Quiet and Noise
This retrospective study of 5,600 patients indicates that the degree of hearing loss was only partially predictive of speech-recognition in quiet and noise, suggesting that cochlear/neural health plays a significant role in quiet and noise, and other variables also likely contribute.
