FDA Offers Clarification to States Regarding Final OTC Hearing Aid Rule

The FDA has sent a letter to state officials making it clear that the Final Rule on OTC Hearing Aids is not intended to create barriers to accessing prescription hearing aids or requiring involvement of different/additional healthcare providers or examinations. This has been a point of concern due to wording in several states' dispensing laws.

Hearing Aid Sales Flatten in Second and Third Quarters of 2022

So far in 2022 U.S. hearing aid sales have increased by 2%, with private/commercial sales being flat (0.3% increase) and VA units increasing by 10%. Second and third quarter sales were essentially flat after an 8% increase in the first quarter. Here's a quick look at the numbers.
