A new online program called the Industry-Consumer Alliance for Accessible Technology (ICAAT) is designed to provide an easy, structured way for industry and consumers to connect, work together, and develop better technology from the ground up. ICAAT was developed by Gallaudet University, American Institutes for Research (AIR), and the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA).
prnewswire․comThe Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) of the FCC has officially extended the enforcement of the technical standard transition period for hearing aid compatibility (HAC) by 6 months with a new deadline of December 5, 2023. The extension is to allow handset manufacturers to release the newest handset models capable of achieving HAC while the FCC considers a pending waiver request filed by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS).
