Association of perception of patient‐centered care with hearing loss by race

Johns Hopkins researchers found hearing loss is associated with higher odds of perceiving suboptimal patient-centered care during healthcare encounters, possibly due to communication barriers and provider bias. Moreover, they found after stratification the association remained present only among non-White participants.
