The Senate on Sunday passed Democrats' $750 billion health care, tax, and climate bill. However, a bid by Sen Bernie Sanders to expand Medicare coverage for eyeglasses, hearing aids and dental care was overwhelmingly defeated.

Exposure to Non-Traumatic Noise on Unvoiced Speech Recognition in Human Listeners with Normal Audiological Profiles

The study examined young dental-school students who had exposure to high-frequency non-traumatic dental-drill noise during their course of study. The findings support the idea that exposure to non-traumatic noise over time could be related to reduced envelope processing in the absence of clinically defined audiological abnormalities. This suggests cochlear synaptopathy, although central auditory dysfunction could also play a role.
